Ansel Adams

The photographer in the above image is Ansel Easton Adams, a famous photographer from the American West.  He was born on February 20, 1902 in San Francisco.  Ansel's family lost most of their money in 1907 with financial problems.  Throughout school Adams struggled vigerously but learned to play the piano and made a job out of it for 12 years.  In his convertion over to photography from the piano, Ansel used the Kodak No. 1 Box Brownie in the above image to take many vast and beautiful photos like the one in the image below.  Ansel Adams traveled to Yosemite Sierra region to spend a great deal of time every year until his death in California on April 22, 1984 at the age of 82.  Adams' cause of death was heart failiure.
